    Toys ‘R’ Us to open north Georgia location

    Toys 'R' Us is expanding with a new standalone store coming to North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawsonville as part of a nationwide plan to open 120 stores by the holidays. The toy retailer, which filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and closed all stores by 2018, is making a major comeback through a partnership with Go! Retail Group.

    Nearly 5,000 Georgians to get relief under $694M auto finance settlement

    Georgia and 40 other states reached a $694 million settlement with Credit Acceptance Corporation over deceptive auto lending practices. Nearly 5,000 Georgia consumers will receive cash payments or debt forgiveness after the company allegedly issued unaffordable subprime loans with hidden fees to vulnerable borrowers it knew would likely default.

Nine Georgians made the 2026 Forbes 400 ranking, with most experiencing net worth changes from the previous year.
