    Google is about to roll out a new AI model. Employees say they're testing another that's way better.

    Google is preparing to release its Gemini 4 'Argon' AI model while internally testing more advanced versions, including one codenamed Carbon that employees compare to Anthropic's Opus 5.5 for coding capabilities. The company is competing intensively with Anthropic and OpenAI in the AI coding agent race, with internal testing showing mixed results on early Argon versions before recent improvements.
