Anthropic policy chief says AI companies can't be expected to operate on 'honor code'

Anthropic's policy chief Sarah Heck said AI companies cannot rely on self-regulation and must work with government on oversight, echoing CEO Dario Amodei's call to slow model development. While executives like Sam Altman and Elon Musk support Amodei's proposal, others including Nvidia's Jensen Huang and Meta's Mark Zuckerberg argue that safety and speed are compatible without new regulations.
