    Seniors struggling worse than teens with screens, AI and algorithms

    Older adults face significant risks from social media, algorithms, and AI, often more so than younger people. Research shows seniors are less aware of how algorithms work, struggle to discern credible information, and are increasingly susceptible to misinformation and scams. While 9 in 10 Americans over 50 use social media and many use chatbots, passive screen consumption may displace enriching activities and harm cognitive function with age.
