The EU and China have reached a preliminary agreement to cut Chinese hybrid car exports to Europe by more than half over four years, averting an immediate trade war. EU trade chief Maros Sefcovic said the deal includes improved market access for rare earth minerals and other goods worth €4 billion, with further negotiations planned for March to address electric vehicles and other trade disputes.
