A modder successfully ported NVIDIA's DLSS 5 neural renderer to use a hybrid FP8/NVFP4 format on RTX 50 series cards, but achieved only 1-2% performance improvement over the standard FP8 implementation. While NVIDIA has indicated NVFP4 support is planned for future DLSS 5 versions, the mod demonstrates the approach is feasible though the model would require retraining to fully leverage NVFP4's potential.
