Portainer 3.0 will no longer support its free Community Edition, which will remain frozen on version 2.45 LTS. The company cites maintenance challenges from supporting multiple platforms simultaneously and says 3.x's enterprise-focused architecture doesn't align with open-source principles. Users can stay on 2.x with security patches or move to paid tiers for new features.
