Asian countries are accelerating oil stockpiling, renewable energy deployment, and regional power grid development in response to supply disruptions from the Iran war. Southeast Asia, which relies on the Strait of Hormuz for 80% of its oil imports, is leading efforts through ASEAN with support from Japan and Australia to strengthen energy security and increase clean energy capacity to 30% of primary supply by 2030.
