LazyPromise is a lightweight async primitive combining ideas from RxJS, native promises, and Effect. It offers a single-shot Observable, a lazy and cancelable promise with a familiar API, and supports generator syntax, type-safe errors, and dependency injection as a simpler alternative to Effect.
Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka revealed that Sega nearly cancelled the entire Sonic franchise during difficult periods, but the 2020 live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie's critical and commercial success saved the series. Iizuka also disclosed that Shadow the Hedgehog was originally planned to be permanently killed off, but the character's popularity led Sega to revive and continue developing him.
