A survey by Japan's CESA found that 85.8 percent of Japanese game developers are using generative AI, up from 51 percent last year, primarily for asset generation and administrative tasks like ChatGPT. While most developers report benefits in production time and cost reduction, only 147 of respondents noted improvements to end-user experience, and companies are increasingly establishing policies governing AI use in response to player concerns.
