Gen Zers are now the biggest spenders in the art market, survey finds

Gen Z has become the largest spenders in the high-end art market, outspending all other generations combined according to the Art Basel and UBS Survey of Global Collecting. Gen Z collectors spent an average of $347,460 on art in 2025-2026, more than twice the average of other generations, and made up nearly half of collectors buying artworks priced above $1 million. The surge from Gen Z and women collectors is driving a recovery in the global art market, which grew 4% in 2025 to $59.6 billion.
