CliffCompaction is an autocompaction technique that reduces token context costs by up to 50% for long-horizon coding agents while maintaining or improving performance. By truncating rather than rephrasing content and avoiding recursive compaction, it enables efficient test-time scaling and achieves state-of-the-art results on coding benchmarks including CUDA kernel optimization tasks.
