The International Solar Alliance is a treaty-based organization of over 112 member countries, primarily located between the Tropics, aimed at promoting solar energy adoption to reduce fossil fuel dependence. Launched by Indian PM Narendra Modi in 2015 and headquartered in Haryana, India, the ISA opened for signatures in Marrakesh in November 2016 with 102 initial signatories.
