Alibaba's Damo Academy open-sourced Damo Radar, an AI model that detects cancer and nearly 150 abdominal conditions from CT scans. Tested on 40,000 real-world exams, the vision-language model achieved an average diagnostic accuracy (AUC) of 0.913, outperforming most radiologists according to a study published in Science.
