South Korea's Korea Customs Service will now regularly check cryptocurrency holdings of people owing over 10 million won in unpaid customs duties and may seize assets from exchanges and personal wallets to cover the debt. The new directive took effect September 28 and applies to approximately 1,100 people currently.
Ireland's Revenue authority will impose a new €2 per-item handling fee on all goods purchased online from non-EU countries starting November 1, in addition to existing €3 customs duties. The fee aims to offset increased costs from surging e-commerce imports, with low-value consignments rising from 660 million in 2022 to 5.7 billion last year.
