The API supports REST and gRPC with rich metadata, finally providing the legitimate machine-to-machine data exchange that the search industry should have had from the beginning. Publishers have long struggled with Google's asymmetric data policies, from encrypted search queries to removal of ranking parameters, forcing vendors into costly workarounds that Google actively blocks.
