A Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC) accumulated thousands of GCache page files in its data directory due to the gcache.freeze_purge_at_seqno setting being activated during a cluster partition on July 9. The frozen purge prevented Galera from reclaiming old cache pages, causing new files to accumulate until a MySQL restart on July 26, though restarting alone did not delete the orphaned files.
