Bandai Namco released a five-minute overview trailer for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, an aerial action game featuring dogfights, dynamic skies, first-person pilot cinematics, and the franchise's largest online multiplayer mode. The game launches October 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is the series' biggest and most confident entry yet, building on the success of its predecessor with refined gameplay, improved presentation, and a 30-mission campaign that keeps action varied through dogfights, bombing runs, and encounters with super weapons. The story follows a pilot who inherits the legendary Wings of Theve callsign while fighting for the FCU against the invading Republic of Sotoa, with enhanced first-person cutscenes and competent AI wingmen adding strategic depth, though the plot can be convoluted with its numerous factions and place names.
