Elixir Studios was a British video game developer founded by Demis Hassabis in 1998 that created innovative strategy games like Republic: The Revolution and Evil Genius before closing in 2005 due to industry risk-aversion and a major project cancellation. The company's intellectual properties were later acquired by Rebellion Developments, and Hassabis went on to co-found DeepMind Technologies.
