Swedish police have transferred an investigation into suspected electoral fraud at a polling station in Malmö during early voting to a specialized unit that handles threats to democracy. The incident occurred on August 26 and was officially reported on September 15.
International election observers from ODIHR determined Sweden did not need international election monitors before this year's election, but several suspected election fraud cases have since been reported in the country. ODIHR stated that these incidents will be considered in future assessments of Sweden's need for international election observation.
