Sydney retiree Ed Darmanin, 67, is completing an 18,000-kilometre journey around mainland Australia on an electric motorcycle, believed to be the first person to do so. The retired electrical engineer has spent three months carefully planning routes between DC fast chargers across remote regions, managing the bike's limited range by adjusting speed and accounting for terrain. He is on the final stretch from eastern Victoria back to Sydney after visiting every mainland state and territory.
