A UCLA study using satellite data identified a Louisiana gas processing facility operated by Energy Transfer as the largest methane super-emitter in the US, releasing 1.56 tonnes per hour from January to June 2025. Energy Transfer, whose billionaire CEO donated millions to Trump, is linked to four of the 15 largest methane-emitting sites studied, accounting for three times more emissions than the next operator.
