EDG's C++ front end became open source on September 30, 2026, with The C++ Alliance serving as its nonprofit home. The professionally maintained compiler engine will accept community contributions through three tracks: user-submitted pull requests, ongoing maintenance by Alliance developers, and collectively funded features, all released simultaneously to a single public repository.
