    Getting Outbound Email to Work on DigitalOcean

    A Ghost blog running on DigitalOcean couldn't send outbound email because the provider blocks standard SMTP ports (25, 465, 587) to prevent spam. The solution was to configure Ghost's Nodemailer to use Amazon SES's alternative ports (2587 or 2465), which bypass the restriction and require deriving an SMTP password from AWS credentials.
