GBNames is a research project by the ESRC Consumer Data Research Centre analyzing generational residential movements and geographical patterns of surnames across Great Britain using historic censuses and consumer data, covering over 40,000 surnames representing 88% of the 2016 adult population in England, Wales, and Scotland.
