AMD is introducing PerfOpt, a new performance optimization feature for Radeon integrated GPUs in Linux 7.4 that bypasses IOMMU overhead when accessing system memory. Testing shows AI/LLM performance improvements of 18-23% on AMD Ryzen systems using the feature, which will be enabled by default in the upcoming kernel release expected by year-end.
