Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg rebuilt the company's board after its previous directors failed to oust him in a 33-hour governance fight. The new board includes science-fiction author Hugh Howey, wellness writer Amy Chan, and co-founders of the defunct social app IRL, alongside new advisers from tech companies. Mullenweg controls 84% voting shares and now holds all major officer positions at the WordPress.com parent company.
