The US faces a critical shortage of 1.7 million skilled trades workers needed annually through 2035 to build AI infrastructure, with current training programs producing only 55 workers per 100 needed. Major companies including BlackRock, Ford, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Waymo have formed the Alliance for America's Skilled Trades to address the gap, as electricians, HVAC technicians, and mechanics are projected to see significantly higher employment growth than average occupations.
