Hackers physically removed a Flock license plate reader camera and recovered 27,321 video clips and 1.6 million images by exploiting an unencrypted storage partition containing an encryption key on the device itself. The investigation revealed the camera logged extensive vehicle and person detection data, though most sensitive storage remained encrypted, and Flock disputed the findings while reiterating that physical tampering is illegal.
