A tool called CrossCheck analyzes public GitHub repositories by inspecting their root package.json and lockfile paths to identify inconsistencies that might indicate a codebase has conflicting configurations or dependencies. The analysis produces entertainment-focused personality archetypes based on package-manager signals without executing code or accessing private repositories.
A review of package-manager ambiguity across 10 public repositories resulted in one confirmed policy fix, four open pull requests, three unresolved intent questions, and two deliberately avoided contributions. The strongest outcome was ageerle/ruoyi-web's owner confirming pnpm as the sole supported installer and merging a cleanup PR that removed conflicting lockfiles.
