The glass of water theory posited that in communist society, sexual desire would be as casual as drinking water. Commonly attributed to Alexandra Kollontai, the theory was criticized by Anatoly Lunacharsky and eventually superseded by Aron Zalkind's Twelve Sexual Commandments. The Bolshevik sexual revolution formally ended between 1929 and 1935.
