Rome's largest known Roman mosaic, discovered in the 1990s beneath the Baths of Trajan, has opened to the public for the first time. The "Muse and the Philosopher" mosaic and accompanying "Painted City" fresco, dating to the first century, feature intricate architectural and figurative scenes spanning 16 metres and four levels. Public viewings began in September with groups limited to 15 people.
