This article documents the footnote feature on xkcd.com, a tiny-font text displayed beneath Randall Munroe's comic recommendations. The original footnote (2007–2016) referenced an Ask Jeeves viral marketing campaign and later included Bitcoin addresses, before being replaced with a new footnote in October 2016 that offers absurd viewing instructions.
Two fonts derived from xkcd webcomic creator Randall Munroe's handwriting are available in this repository: xkcd Script, a less uniform script font, and xkcd, a more uniform font originally used in the comic. Both are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0.
