Nerial, developer of the acclaimed mobile game Reigns, is shutting down after 13 years and 11 games. Creative director François Alliot is stepping back from the studio, which was acquired by Devolver Digital in 2021, to return to independent game development with his wife Tamara. Seven employees are being laid off as the studio closes, though Alliot hopes to work with them as contractors.
