Galileo satellites successfully demonstrated their new Signal Authentication Service (SAS) for the first time under real-world conditions in Norway and the Netherlands, protecting against jamming and spoofing attacks. The encrypted signal test marks a major milestone in Galileo's evolution, with SAS complementing the already-operational OSNMA to provide users with verified, trustworthy positioning data. Full service validation is expected next year before operational deployment.
