Bee biologist Marina Arbetman documents the decline of Patagonia's endemic giant bumblebee (Bombus dahlbomii) in raspberry fields of southern Chile and Argentina, where non-native European buff-tailed bumblebees (Bombus terrestris) intentionally introduced for agriculture now dominate, outcompeting and spreading novel diseases to the native species whose population has dropped up to 90 percent.
