Canonical is now building official Ubuntu 26.10 desktop images for RISC-V hardware, with both GNOME and Xubuntu variants available for testing on the SpacemiT K3 board. The experimental images address the need for preinstalled desktop options on modern 64-bit RISC-V systems, resolving a gap where hardware vendors previously had to create their own recovery images.
