FreshThread is a Windows companion tool for Codex that monitors task activity and facilitates context handoffs between tasks. It displays context usage, completed turns, and readiness for handoffs, allowing users to review and approve summaries before moving to new work. A seven-day public beta is available for download, running from September 24 to October 1, 2026.
