A Webster man is celebrating 48 years with a kidney transplanted from his mother Betty in March 1978 when he was 16. The kidney, which would be turning 100 this year, is the longest-surviving transplant in Strong Hospital's history, defying the typical 15-20 year lifespan for living donor kidneys.
