Helicoprion is an extinct shark-like fish from the Devonian to Early Triassic characterized by unique spiral tooth whorls on its lower jaw. Fossils found globally show it was a predator that used different teeth positions to hook, pierce, and cut both hard- and soft-bodied prey like ammonoids and squids.
