Turso 0.8 introduces BEGIN CONCURRENT to enable concurrent writes without SQLite's single-writer bottleneck, significantly reducing transaction tail latency and improving write throughput under concurrent workloads. The release demonstrates that Turso's MVCC architecture achieves sub-6ms latency at 32 concurrent connections while SQLite reaches 1.2 seconds, and scales write throughput to 9,500 transactions per second compared to SQLite's flat 1,370 tps.
