Functional ultrasound imaging (fUSI) is an emerging brain imaging modality that captures rapid movies of neural activity by tracking blood flow changes, offering higher resolution and lower cost than fMRI. The technique uses ultrasound transducers to measure backscattered waves from moving red blood cells, detecting hemodynamic responses with potential clinical applications in treating neuropsychiatric disorders.
