Discourse has launched Voice, a core plugin that adds Discord-style peer-to-peer voice and video calls directly into forums. The feature includes background blur, noise suppression, live subtitles via local AI, screen sharing, and optional integration with LiveKit servers for larger calls, with all processing happening locally on users' devices.
