The Bayeux Tapestry is on display at the British Museum in London with sold-out bookings through early 2027, but a free full-size replica embroidered by Elizabeth Wardle and the Leek Embroidery Society in 1885–1886 has been viewable at Reading Museum since 1895. The 70-meter tapestry depicts the events leading to the Norman Conquest, from Edward the Confessor's death through Harold's journey to Normandy and his oath to William.
