Goldman Sachs expects the five largest U.S. hyperscalers to boost AI infrastructure spending 54% to $1.2 trillion in 2027, above Wall Street estimates.
Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, Oracle and Meta are already on track to spend $800 billion this year.
Goldman estimates hyperscalers need roughly $300 billion in annual AI revenue to break even, while rising financing needs and infrastructure constraints could slow future spending growth. https://x.com/DeItaone/status/2103459190488305721

That puts focus on monetization because Goldman says they need ~$300B of annual AI revenue to break even while more than a third of that CapEx may be debt funded. https://t.co/HBDsCPylaY https://x.com/StockSavvyShay/status/2103467312020169184
## @DeepDishEnjoyer (peepeepoopoo) · 09-25 12:38 · ♥78 ↻1 💬2 this is definitely currently NOT true. those opportunities are not riskless, and importantly, you can't use private illiquid ai capex as collateral! its true that as real gdp growth increases substantially rates should rise though, but we aren't there yet

There's a lot of belt tightening and cost cutting happening at Microsoft right now to offset all the AI capex investments.
Services like these most probably were not making enough money and not attracting the type of customers they wanted so they are getting cut.
They are also shedding lots of different roles with multiple rounds of docs teams (latest one being this week where we lost some amazing PowerShell docs folks...) > 引用 @NathanMcNulty: Holy crap! This is a terrible set of replacement options...
