The more interesting question is:

How much should your wallet understand before you execute it?

Because on-chain execution isn't just:

connect → sign → done.

Every interaction carries a different risk profile.

A swap has execution risk.

A leveraged position has liquidation risk.

A perpetual has funding and margin risk.

A DeFi interaction can introduce smart-contract and approval risk.

And a malicious transaction can turn a simple signature into an asset-draining event.

This is where I think the wallet starts becoming something much more interesting.

It shouldn't only be the place where the private key lives.

It should become the decision layer between the user and the protocol.

Think about the flow:

Intent → simulation → risk assessment → authorization → execution → monitoring.

That's fundamentally different from treating every transaction as:

“Do you want to sign this?”

@solflare is already moving in this direction.

Its Guards inspect transactions, while transaction simulation can surface what an interaction actually does before you approve it.

And on the trading side, the same philosophy appears in a different form.

Before opening a perp, you can see position size, leverage, entry price, liquidation price and liquidation buffer.

You can also define take-profit and stop-loss levels instead of leaving risk completely unmanaged.

That's an important distinction.

Self-custody shouldn't mean self-blindness.

The user should still control the final authorization.

But the interface should make the consequences of that authorization increasingly legible.

Because as wallets move deeper into swaps, perps, DeFi, payments and other forms of on-chain execution, the valuable product isn't simply:

“We let you sign.”

It's:

“We help you understand what you're signing, what you're risking, and what happens next.”

That is a much bigger role for a wallet.

And I think that's where the next generation of wallet UX gets really interesting.

The wallet doesn't just hold your keys.

It becomes the layer that translates blockchain execution into human decisions.
