let’s take a look at @coingecko’s RWA page.
the tracked tokenized market is now around $9.3B, with roughly $1.4B in 24h tokenized volume.
but the headline number doesn't tell the whole story.
➜ commodities: ~$6.25B market cap | ~$344M volume ➜ stocks: ~$2.28B market cap | ~$593M volume ➜ ETFs: part of the remaining market
commodities still dominate, and gold accounts for most of that.
gold has roughly $6.04B in tokenized market cap against an underlying market cap of about $31.7T.
its tokenized volume is around $343M, while gold perps recorded roughly $7.9B in volume and $5.1B open interest.
silver shows an even clearer difference between tokenized spot activity and derivatives.
it has around $227M in tokenized market cap and only about $106K in tokenized 24h volume.
its perps market recorded roughly $2.3B in volume with about $925M open interest.
then there are individual stocks.
Apple sits around $37M in tokenized market cap and $27M in volume.
Nvidia has around $147M in tokenized market cap and nearly $198M in tokenized volume.
the prices are also worth watching.
Nvidia's reference price was about $228.74 versus $228.97 for its tokenized price, roughly a 0.1% difference.
that gives another way to look at the market.
you're not just seeing which assets have been tokenized.
you're seeing market cap, liquidity, price differences and derivatives activity across different types of RWAs.
and that's what makes the data interesting.
@coingecko is tracking and aggregating this market; it isn't issuing or custodizing the underlying assets, and its tokenized price data shouldn't be treated as a replacement for official exchange prices.
the interesting question isn't simply whether RWAs are growing.
it's what kind of market is forming underneath the headline number.

you shouldn't need multiple platform just to move from the currency you have to the currency you need
