## @DyamondBre (Andrew Collins | Tech & AI) · 09-29 21:41 · ♥62 ↻6 💬3 I’ve been looking around, and the market’s attention is firmly on $MU earnings.
On Monday, I expected Micron to pull back with the broader market, and it ended up closing near $1,150.
The biggest question now is whether this report can reignite the memory trade.
I’m still optimistic about the results themselves. Revenue and EPS will likely remain strong, but whether the stock can hold any post-earnings gains will come down to next-quarter guidance.
The weakness ahead of earnings mainly reflects three things:
Higher interest rates, concerns around AI demand, and a stock that had simply run too far, too fast.
This isn’t a Micron-specific problem. High-beta semiconductor stocks have been cooling across the board. From its mid-September low to last week’s high, $MU gained nearly 20% in a short period. Some profit-taking ahead of earnings is perfectly normal.
Beyond $HBM and $DRAM , Enterprise SSDs also deserve attention. Inference workloads, checkpointing and KV cache are all pushing more data toward high-performance storage.
I’ll be watching PCIe Gen6, Data Center SSD shipments and whether the product mix continues to improve.
If storage joins the cycle, the entire #AI memory stack could start delivering at the same time. https://x.com/DyamondBre/status/2105050365108289988
