# HBM demand — X 热门讨论 (2026-10-08 06:27 UTC)
## @BigGeorgeXL (Big George) · 10-08 06:09 · ♥71 ↻70 💬3 🚨 SAMSUNG JUST POSTED A RECORD-SMASHING PROFIT
Samsung Electronics is reporting a ₩107.4 trillion ($80B) quarterly operating profit nearly 9× higher than a year ago.
The driver? AI.
Surging demand for AI data centers is tightening supplies of HBM, server DRAM and NAND, pushing memory prices and margins sharply higher.
📈 Key numbers:
• Operating profit: ₩107.4T - +782.5% YoY
• Revenue: ₩195T - +127% YoY
• Operating margin: 55%
• 9-month profit: ₩254T
• Previous quarterly record: surpassed
• HBM4: mass production and shipments underway
This would make Samsung the first technology company ever to exceed ₩100 trillion in quarterly operating profit, with the memory-chip business expected to generate virtually all of the profit.
And the AI boom may not be slowing down.
Some analysts see Samsung reaching ₩370T in full-year operating profit and potentially ₩550T next year if the memory shortage persists.
Why markets should care
AI infrastructure demand - Memory shortage - Higher chip prices - Higher Samsung profits
The bigger question is whether this AI-driven memory boom can remain strong through 2027–2028, or whether soaring component prices eventually begin to constrain demand.
AI isn't just lifting Nvidia anymore. It's reshaping the entire semiconductor supply chain. https://x.com/BigGeorgeXL/status/2108077254991323519
