Vara offers the ecosystem the network, while RivrDEX offers the users a place to use them for DeFi services
and
this, in my opinion, is the main difference.
You can have a fast and almost free network, but users will need applications to make the network actually useful.

Only real options left are:
- Money Market Funds - Metals - Crypto
But the clear winner here will be metals.
